PM: Steps to support Russian economy taken on every day basis

MOSCOW, Mar 31 (PRIME) -- The government approves measures to support the Russian economy on a daily basis, close cooperation between the agencies is necessary, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Tuesday.

“We continue to take everyday steps to support the Russian economy to minimize the impact of the crisis on the people and businesses so today close cooperation between the agencies is especially important,” he said.

The government will monitor the economy and extend the list of steps to support the entrepreneurs.

The new tax on income from individual deposits is not linked to the current economic situation, but stability must be ensured in the future, the prime minister added.

The State Duma, the Russian parliament’s lower house, earlier approved a bill, under which a personal income tax with a standard rate of 13% would be levied on the total amount of an individual’s annual income on deposits in excess of what he would have received by placing 1 million rubles for a year at the central bank’s key rate.
